His arms, and most of his body, are covered by a thick layer of dark hair and are marked by the spitting from the furnace and the hot iron. His head-hair is also black and is kept out of harms way in a horse-tail lying on his back. His beard is kept short by the way of scissors - he doesn't shave. He usually wears quite torn clothes worn by hard labour and the life on the road. The most expensive item he wears are a pair of sturdy looking boots. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Sigurd was intended to take over his father's smithy in Birka and worked as Björn's apprentice for many years. His father's bad sense of busines changed that though, and the smithy became the property of a merchant who'd leant money to Björn. Sigurd left Birka to get away from the shame and got by as a temporary farmhand and smith, walking across Sweden and Norway. In Urnes he heard about the new island of opportunity and took passage with a ship headed to Iceland. Now he walks from farm to farm, offering his services to anyone who's paying. To convince the farmers that they need his help he's been forced to talk a lot and he's also learned to read people; if they're trying to trick him or if they're just a waste of time.
